"happy" anniversary
One year ago today, I lost my home.
One year ago today, I lost my community.
One year ago today, I lost my friends.
One year ago today, I lost everything I ever owned.
One year ago today, I lost all trust and respect I had for my mother.
One year ago today, I lost all control over my life.
One year ago today, none of this would have happened if the Army Corps of Engineers knew how to build a levee.

Yes, and one year later, it appears that lots of the Powers-that-be still have their heads up their asses with regards to New Orleans. I still see you in the news from time to time in Switzerland, and the bureaucrats just make me ill.
Dynomoose, this photo just breaks my heart. I can't imagine that New Jersey is any less a trauma than the aftermath of the levee breaks, either.
I've read lots of your entries on DC's blog. You're a really sharp, good person, and I can't help but believe that the worm has got to turn for you and your family. I can't offer much more than to keep you in my thoughts... which is kind of lame or beyond, but you all are there.
